    1. Interesting take on KH s life as a feisty but oddly needy actress at the confluence of the old Hollywood community Howard Hughes, big studios ruled by autocratic paternalistic heads , A pictures, B pictures, the birth of noir films, etc through the auteur period, and finally into the big business it is today Lots of info on her first marriage first husband, her co dependent friendships with women, her relationships with film buisiness men and her alliance with Spencer Tracy All my reading on her [...]

    2. I feel slightly guilty admitting that I paid a ridiculous 50c for this in a charity shop but I am going to buy a few books by this biographer so it all works out fair and square in the end.Only a few lines are needed to recommend this book It is wonderfully readable and well researched If you have any interest in acting, the theatre movies and even just a passing interest in Katherine Hepburn you will enjoy this book. She was an inspirational woman though I probably would not have liked her had [...]

    3. I was a little disappointed in this portrayal of Kathrine Hepburn Presented as a wealthy, stubborn, selfish snob who is as in love with her quirks as she is with her New England upbringing she is not likable at all It is difficult to read hundreds of pages about a woman who is annoying with each chapter I think the biggest thing that bothers me about the Kathrine Hepburn story is the legendary romance between Hepburn and Spencer Tracy Firmly devoted to his Catholic faith, he could never divorce [...]

    4. Indeed a remarkable woman Did not realize how involved she was with the entire movie making production Also, darn it , she was 5 7 and probably never weighed 120 pounds in her entire life VERY athletic till the end was she in her 80s before she died This book is filled with too many details about each movie and too many footnotes, but quite the read, nonetheless Her ability to remain attached and tenderly concerned with Spenser Tracy for over 25 years while still maintainlng her independance sho [...]

    5. Didn t know that much about her life before reading this book Helped me a lot I admired her for her acting, now I admire Katharine Hepburn for the person she was I loved the book, it showed me surprising and intimate things about her and her family.

    6. Anne Edwards was somewhat limited by the fact that Katharine Hepburn was very much alive and active at the time of this book, but still she manages to glean some intimate details to share with us All in all, a good read.
